Environmental Leadership in Action

Environmental Leadership in Action

Students become advocates for change in their school and local community.  All students are divided into Green teams to work at the school farm, native plant garden/nursery, or work as a health advocate.  In addition, they all participate in off campus improvement in the local community.

Green Teams

The tenth grade elective course in the Green Academy is called Environmental Leadership in Action.  We've organized the students into three Green Teams.  They are:  Nursery, Native Plant Garden, and the Farm Teams.  The objectives of the teams are to:

  1. Foster a sense of ownership
  2. Work as a team on routine tasks
  3. Develop and implement special projects
  4. Foster leadership skills
  5. Further enhance the farm, garden, nursery, and campus in both an aesthetic and educational way
