Academic Problems

If a student is having academic problems in a class, he/she should try to talk to the teacher privately prior to seeing the counselor. Requesting a short private meeting with the teacher outside of class can be an effective way to get assistance. If further help is needed, the student should make an appointment to see his/her counselor! The counselor will try to assist in resolving the problem. Parents may also be involved in the discussion.

Further, counselors will meet with thier students individually every year to help in planning schedules for the next year and discussing a students' future goals. Good grades are important both in high school and to prepare for college.
