Graduation Requirements

In Fall of 2009, San Lorenzo High School transitioned off the 4x4 Block schedule in which students take 80 credits per year, to a 6-period day in which students take 60 credits per year. Therefore, the graduation requirements will be incrementally adjusted over the course of the next four years, 2009-2010 through 2012-2013.

To earn a diploma from SLzUSD, the following credits in the specific subject areas must be completed. Students must complete each course with a grade of D- or better to earn credit.

 NOTE: A maximum of 50 units of P.E. and 40 units of Work Experience will be allowed to count for graduation.

 

High School Exit Exam

Starting with the graduating class of 2006 all students will have to pass the California High School Exit Exam in order to earn a SLZ diploma. The test is given three times each year, beginning in March of a student's 10th grade year. Parents MAY NOT excuse their child from this test.
