Ms. Shimada

Welcome to my homepage!

A little bit about me:

I have been at San Lorenzo High School for 18 years and I absolutely love this learning community.  I love my colleagues.  I love the students.  I love teaching.

I love soccer and play it 2-3 times a week on indoor teams and an outdoor team.  I coach my son's soccer team and have coached it for the past five years.  I organize the LLC Rebel World Cup each spring.

I also love traveling and exploring.  I've been to 27 different states and have driven across the United States.  I've been to 12 different countries, including: Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Mexico, Canada, Germany, France, Belgium, England, Scotland, Holland.

I enjoy hiking and camping and just this summer took a road trip to visit Yellowstone National Park, Arches National Park, Zion National Park, Grand Teton National Park and the Craters of the Moon National Monument.

I enjoy cooking and baking and crafting.

Now you know some things about me.  I look forward to getting to know all of you.

About learning and teaching:

I teach English 11 and  English language development.  You can see, to the the left of the screen, that I place a lot of helpful links, certain assignments, and special notes on this site.  It is very important that you check School Loop often and it is even more important that you read all of my messages.  I place a lot of helpful information in my messages and it will be to your benefit to read them closely.

Please feel free to communicate with me via School Loop.

I am always here for you.  I fully support you.  Let's work hard together.  After all, hard work, mistakes, and failure, they all are part of learning and learning will lead to success!
