Ultimate Expression Week

What is Ultimate Expression Week (UEW)?

The phrase "Ultimate Expression" comes from the philosophy that the ultimate expression of SLZ Pride is the ability to give back and better the community surrounding our school. During this week, our student body raises over a hundred toys to donate to the Ashland Community Center by holding a friendly competition between participating 1st period classes. We also typically raise over a hundred dollars from the Lunch Time Activities, with all profits going to the Ashland Community Center as well. In 2013, we introduced Penny Wars into the many activities of UEW, all profits from Penny Wars went to the relief fund for Typhoon Yolanda through Red Cross. In participating classrooms we placed Pennies for Patients boxes, in which students dropped in any loose change they had to donate to the The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society foundation.
