Arbor Day 2013 Recap

On Sunday, January 13th, SLz students met to beautify the campus and lower carbon emissions in our community. Students planted trees and shade bushes alongside B-Hall and C-Hall. They also worked hard to prune and clear foliage from the Native Plant Garden, in order to prepare it for the Native Plant Garden Tour that will be taking place this spring.  In addition, students helped post signage within the garden and prepared the nursery.  This year, Mr. Fishman and Mr. Wiley were joined by Pete Veilleux, one of Northern California's foremost authorities on Northern California native plants.  Thank you to him, students, adults and community members who participated.

Arbor Day on Saturday December 10th, 2011

Saturday December 10th from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. over 60 SLz students met to  beautify the campus and lower carbon emissions in our community. Students planted trees and shade bushes. They also worked hard to prune and clear foliage from the Native Plant Garden, in order to prepare it for the Native Plant Garden Tour that will be taking place this May. Students brought younger siblings who were instrumental in helping with the work. Another big thanks to the adults and community members who participated. We couldn't have done it without all of your work!
