Deadline:  October 25, 2017

Award:  $6,000 to $25,000

 

This scholarship program provides financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have significant financial need & have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity.

Eligibility criteria include: high school graduation in spring/summer, demonstrated critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), and United States citizenship.

Award: 5 - $5,000 Scholarships

 

The program is designed to assist high school students who plan to continue their education in college. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

♦Princeton Prize Awards Program♦

Deadline:  Jan. 31, 2018

 

The Prize was founded in 2003 to support and encourage young activists committed to improving race relations.

Students from any current 9th -12th grade can apply who in the past 12 months has organized and played a leadership role in a volunteer effort that has positively impacted race relations in his or her school or community.

Students must complete & submit (online or by mail) Part I of the application form, available at pprize.Princeton.edu/apply.  Part II of the application must be submitted by the students sponsor (adult, not related to the student, who is familiar with the activity being put forth for the award.

This scholarship program helps support promising high school seniors who intend to pursue a career in an approved engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics program and who live in communities where Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has a major presence.

What are the eligibility requirements?

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be a resident in one of the counties or communities mentioned above
  • Must be a graduating senior of a public or accredited private high school in sponsoring location
  • Must plan to attend an accredited college or university as a full-time student in an approved engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics program
  • Must have a minimum composite SAT score of 1150 or ACT score of 27 (initial application only)
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 (un-weighted)

To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States
  • Show leadership potential
  • Demonstrate a dedication to community service
  • Present evidence of financial need
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Have a minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21

Who can apply?  Incoming or current college students of any ethnic background. Must plan to be enrolled full time in the Fall. ♦2018 Cherry Blossom Festival Scholarship♦

Deadline:  March 10, 2018

 

Eligibility:  Applicant must be a graduating senior of Japanese American descent at an accredited high school with a grade point average of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0. Applicant should be actively involved in her or his local community.

Students will be awarded scholarships on the basis of commitment to their community, written essays, academic achievement and personal character.

The "Italian Catholic Federation"  offers $400 scholarships to Roman Catholic graduating Seniors of Italian descent who have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2.

State Council Cabrillo Civic Clubs of California Scholarship♦

Deadline: March 15, 2018

 

 

Application must be fully completed or applicant will be disqualified. Applications will not be accepted or considered, if the required documents are not attached and the following requirements are not met:

1. Applicants must be of Portuguese descent and be a USA citizen or permanent resident.

2. Applicant must have maintained a minimum 3.50 Total Weighted Grade Point Average for Grades 9 -12 and be a graduating Senior of a California high school.

(An official High School Transcript must accompany the application)

3. Applicant meets all entrance requirements of the accredited community college, college, trade school or university the applicant plans to attend.

4. Applicant must have participated in at least three(3) extra-curricular activities while in high school.

5. Applicant must present three(3) letters of recommendation from individuals who will vouch for the applicant’s academic standing, character and personality. One letter must be from the Principal, Dean or Counselor, verifying participation in the extra-curricular activities. One letter must be from a teacher of the high school attended. One letter may be from any other source except a relative and may be an additional teacher. Individuals writing letters are to include their titles or position.

6. Applicants must complete the Application for an Undergraduate Scholarship, including the essay.

♦The Anita Baskervill-Harris Scholarship♦

Deadline:  March 23, 2018

Awards:  $500 to $2000

 

The Xi Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority  will be awarding schoalrships to outstanding African American High School Seniors.

 

1. The Applicant must be a graduating senior from one of the Bay Area counties listed below.

2. The Applicant must reside in one of the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, San

Francisco, Solano, or in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, in Northern California.

3. Applicant shall participate in an in-person, face-to-face interview. No electronic interviews will be

accepted, including but not limited to: FaceTime, Skype, or conference calls.

4. Scholarship viability will be based on high school records showing a minimum GPA of 3.0. If you submit

an application with a GPA lower than a 3.0 you must also submit a statement that explains the mitigating

circumstances that caused your GPA to fall below a 3.0. (Physical education, dance, typing, home

economics and other non- academic courses will not be included in the GPA calculation).

5. Economic need is based on family size and income.

6. Please submit the following: A personal statement describing who you are and evidence of your

achievements not reflected in other parts of your attached application. The personal statement must

also explain how and why the events described, have shaped your attitude, focus, and most of all, your

intellectual vitality. Essay must be at least 300-500 words, 1-3 pages, typed and double-spaced.
