Library
Circulation Policy:
- You must have your current SLzHS student ID card to check out materials.
- The check out period for library materials is 3 weeks (15 school days) and may be renewed as long as there are no reserves on the item.
- Reference books are checked out for overnight use only and are due back before school the next day.
- Back issues of magazines can be checked out for one week.
- A student is responsible for all materials checked out under his or her name. A student may use his or her ID to check out books for another person.
Fines and Fees:
- Overdue books from the general collection (non-reference books) will receive a 5 cent per school day fine.
- Overdue reference books will receive a 25 cent per school day fine.
- Damaged book fees start at $2. Severely damaged books are charged replacement cost.
- If a book is lost, the student must pay the replacement cost.
- Students may not check out additional books if they have overdue items and/or if they have fines exceeding $4.00.
- All overdue fines and replacement fees must be paid before students register for fall classes, attend Winter Ball and/or Prom, and receive their yearbook. Graduating seniors must also clear fines and fees in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Overdue Notices:
- All checked out material is stamped inside the front cover with a due date. This is the student’s notice of when the material needs to be turned in or renewed in order to avoid fines.
Printing and Copying:
- Students who wish to print or make copies must purchase a print card for 25 cents.

Each print card is worth 10 pages and is good for the years that the student is at SLzHS.
Code of Conduct:
- All school rules apply in the library.
- BE RESPECTFUL of classmates, teachers, the library facility, and all materials and equipment.
- Food and drinks are not allowed in the library.
- Students must be actively working on class work, homework, research, or reading while in the library.
- The privilege of using the library will be restricted if a student violates the code of conduct.
- The privilege of using the library computers will be restricted if a student violates the District Internet, Computer Network, Electronic Devices Use Policies.
